I've been trying for years to love a good martini. I just wanted to be classy sipping my martini at dinner however, I couldn't figure out the perfect concoction of ingredients for my optimal tasting experience. I think I finally found my sweet spot. Unfortunately you do need a good vodka to insure that it is smooth. At the least I would get Titos but I much prefer Ketel One or my favorite Grey Goose!
Let's make a classic Dirty Vodka Martini
- 2.5 ounces vodka (Grey Goose is my favorite)
- 0.5 ounces dry vermouth (Martini Rossi)
- 1 oz olive brine (Mezzetta is fab)
Add your vodka and vermouth to a cocktail shaker. Strain your olive brine into the shaker next. Add ice and shake vigorously. Pour out into a frosted glass (frosted glass makes or breaks the perfect martini). Garnish with 1 or 3 olives (an old bartender superstition is to only serve an old number of olives). This is a fool proof martini recipe! Best enjoyed on a cool summer night, with a side of oysters and a beautiful sunset!
