At this point in October, I definitely recommend a Practical Magic movie night. If you've seen Practical Magic, you know all about Midnight Margaritas! If I do say so myself, frozen margaritas are "practically bewitching" 😉 So let's make an autumn take on a classic frozen margarita (recipes below - serves 1 or serves 4 witches)
Midnight Margaritas (serves 1)
- 2 oz Tequila
- 3/4 oz triple sec
- 2 1/2 oz apple cider
- Splash of juice from an orange (a blood orange if you're feeling festive)
- 1 oz lime juice
- 1/4 oz agave syrup
- handful of ice
- Lime Slice
- Cinnamon Sugar for rim of glass
- Cinnamon Stick for garnish
Method:
Add your tequila, triple sec, apple cider, fruit juices, agave and ice into a blender. Blend away until it has the consistency you prefer. Start with less ice than you think and add as you need. Sometimes too much ice can water the drink down but also if you're looking for that frozen consistency, you'll need to keep adding. In a fresh rocks glass, follow the rim of the glass with a lime and then dip that part of the rim into your cinnamon sugar. Pour your frozen goodness into your glass and #garnish with a cinnamon stick. Best paired, OBVIOUSLY with a Practical Magic movie night!
Batched recipe:
Midnight Margaritas (serves 4 witches😁)
- 8 oz Tequila
- 3 oz triple sec
- 10 oz apple cider
- 1 oz juice from an orange (a blood orange if you're feeling festive)
- 4 oz lime juice
- 1.5 oz agave syrup
- 4 handfuls of ice
- 4 Lime Slices
- Cinnamon Sugar for rim of glass
- 4 Cinnamon Sticks for garnish
