An Aperitif!

There is something about an orange cocktail that I cannot resist! The Americano is a classic cocktail great for the upcoming holiday season because it's light and won't weigh you down before your big holiday meal! I recently enjoyed this aperitif while preparing our Thanksgiving dinner! The Americano consists of Campari, Sweet Vermouth and soda water. I garnished mine a grapefruit peal (instead of the usual orange) because I like the extra sweetness that the grapefruit gives off. The sweetness helps balance the bitterness of the Campari.

Cheers to this orange goodness!

  1. 1.5 ounces of Campari (1.5 ounces is a standard shot glass)

  2. 1.5 ounces of Sweet Vermouth

  3. Splash of soda water (I used lemon seltzer)

  4. Garnish with a grapefruit peal

  5. Served over ice in a rocks glass
